Urban optimisation

It is crucial to optimise urban development as our city grows in order to maximise access to jobs, services and housing options, while protecting our architectural heritage and open spaces.

Our prized liveability depends on having an appropriate blend of housing options that are well-connected to community services and jobs that will power our economic growth.

Well planned housing options and connectedness are critical to a safe and healthy city.

Using a multi-disciplinary approach, the Committee will submit practical ideas for dealing effectively with the key challenges of urban infill versus urban sprawl, housing affordability, community connectivity, and support services.

"We need to have mature conversations around urban densification with planned amenities and public spaces."
