16.09.2021Vax the Nation!
The Committee is committed to supporting our members and our community to reopen in a COVID-safe way. We are partnering with the Victorian government to support its COVID-safe business practices and vaccination campaigns.
Vaccination is key to getting out of the COVID-19 pandemic – it’s one of the most important tools we have to move to a more normal way of life.
Our members are leading the way in mobilising the Australian public to get vaccinated to help reopen Melbourne’s life blood: our live entertainment and education sectors.
The Vax The Nation campaign was launched on 6 September, encouraging Australians to get vaccinated to help ‘stop the interruptions’ to live entertainment. The campaign is supported by 150+ partners & supporters and 250+ artists (and growing), encouraging everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
CEO of Arts Centre Melbourne and Committee for Melbourne Director, Claire Spencer is standing alongside industry leaders to drive this campaign, including Live Performance Australia, Live Nation, ARIA, APRA AMCOS, MEAA, AFA, Frontier/Mushroom Group and Ticketek/TEG. The creative idea was devised by ad-agency-guru Russel Howcroft, with a video featuring Powderfinger’s iconic song ‘My Happiness’.
This week, the University of Melbourne launched its own website, VaxFACTS(www.vaxfacts.org.au), featuring a series of simple videos aimed at the public to answer common questions and address concerns about COVID-19 vaccines in Australia.
This site has been created as a resource for all to use in a way that enables the videos to be easily shared, safe in the knowledge that the material is up-to-date and delivered by world-leading experts.
We encourage you to share these messages to help educate, inform and ultimately influence more people to get vaccinated.
