06.05.2021Submission to the Victorian Government Budget 2021-22

If last year’s Victorian Budget was the most important in modern times, this year’s budget is not far behind. As Victoria looks to rebound from the worst effects of the pandemic, our leaders must marshal limited resources to accelerate growth and position the state for future success.

International education and tourism – two sectors decimated by COVID-related travel restrictions – should be prioritised, along with continued investment in affordable housing.

Economic prosperity hinges on the success of key economic sectors, all of which must innovate and embrace new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence. The Victorian Government should continue to support organisations and sectors committed to researching and deploying advanced technologies.

Renewable energy is a hot topic. With enough ambition and resources, a lucrative renewables export industry could be created, but we will need to move quickly.
