Committee for Melbourne’s prestigious 2024 Melbourne Achiever Awards nominations

First awarded in 1983, the Committee’s Melbourne Achiever Award has recognised the extraordinary efforts of proud Melburnians for 40 years. Each year the prize is presented to an individual and an organisation who reflects the vision of the Committee, to shape Melbourne’s great future.

Previous winners include the late Dame Elizabeth Murdoch AC DBE and Ron Walker AC CBE, National Gallery of Victoria, VicHealth, Melbourne and Olympic Parks, The Australian Ballet and our 2023 winners Scott Chapman and the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.

The 2024 Melbourne Achiever Award is themed ‘Our Melbourne’ and the winners will be announced at our Annual Dinner on 9 May 2024.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, your nominee must have provided a significant and enduring contribution to Melbourne that will leave a lasting legacy. Considerations will also include any outstanding achievements and the values and spirit of Committee for Melbourne.

Your nominee can be either an individual and/or organisation. As a member, you are welcome to nominate your own company, another organisation or individual you feel is worthy of this recognition.

The relevance to the Committee’s key policy areas should also be taken into consideration when submitting your nomination:

  • Future Economy – including a range of issues such as future skills, innovation precincts, investment, productivity, supply chain resilience, governance, and entrepreneurialism.
  • Infrastructure & Sustainability – including areas of integrated transport, whole city connectivity, effective digital connectivity, environmental outcomes, and technology.
  • Liveability & Urban Optimisation – including arts and culture, sports, visitor economy, affordable housing, health, inclusivity, and brand.

Our submissions date has been extended and are due by 29 February 2024. Please note we do not need extensive background on the reasons behind your nomination as we conduct our own research.
