10.05.2024Lifetime Achievement Award – Pamela Warrender OAM
Congratulations Pamela Warrender OAM for receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from Committee for Melbourne.
Pamela, who founded the Committee in 1985, and turns 100 in 2024, has been recognised for her continuing devotion to Melbourne and the community, as well as her tireless efforts, vision and ideas for the future – that continue to this day.
Pamela received this award at the Committee’s annual gala dinner at The Melbourne Town Hall in the presence of Deputy Premier Ben Carroll, Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp AO, and many other Melbourne leaders.
Pamela has throughout her life, dedicated time to promoting the brand and arts & culture of Melbourne. She spearheaded programs that put Melbourne on the world stage and gave rise to the modern art movement in Melbourne.
Nearly 40 years ago, Pamela created Committee for Melbourne due to her unwavering dedication to make the city successful – economically and culturally. At a time when Melbourne needed a boost, Pamela worked with thought leaders to deliver important ideas to improve Melbourne’s future, such as the Docklands redevelopment. Without these significant contributions Melbourne may not be the cultural and economic powerhouse it is today.
Thank you Pamela and congratulations on all you have achieved.
