11.09.2024Join Committee for Melbourne at the 2024 Commonwealth Business Forum
The Committee for Melbourne is offering a rare opportunity for business representatives to join our delegation to the 2024 Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) in Samoa.
Since its inception in 1997, the CBF has grown to be a crucial business-to-government event, convening 56 Commonwealth leaders for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), alongside world-leading global experts from the private sector for dialogue, networking, and engagement.
Significantly, King Charles and Queen Camilla will undertake an Autumn Tour that will include attendance at CHOGM 2024 and a Royal Visit to Australia
Held from 23-24 October in Apia, Samoa, the 2024 CBF will be the first held in the Pacific region since 2011.
The event’s theme is ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’. Businesses will sit with governments over multiple plenary sessions and roundtables to discuss major international issues around five critical pillars:
- Access to finance
- Tech and innovation
- Reducing barriers to trade
- Sustainability and resilience
- Transforming the workforce.
The event will feature more than 450 influential business delegates representing companies from across the world, with more than 100 distinguished speakers and panellists from business, government and international institutions.
It provides a unique opportunity to network with peers and beyond, introduce your company to a global business audience and profile your company alongside global leaders in your field.
The Hon Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa, Prime Minister of the Government of Samoa said: “As we welcome leaders from across the Commonwealth to Samoa, I hope you will take the opportunity to meet with your peers, contribute to the global dialogue, and champion Commonwealth-led initiatives.”
