06.07.2022Future Focus Group 2023-2024 Program
We are delighted to launch the next offering of the Future Focus Group Program (FFG), Melbourne’s own emerging civic leaders’ program with a heritage dating back to 1996 and over 500 graduates. It is a unique program for selected emerging leaders in Melbourne to better understand, connect within and contribute to Melbourne while building their leadership capabilities. Expressions of interest in, and nominations for, the FFG 2023-2024 Program are now welcomed.
The next Program will start with an Induction on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 February at a CBD or CBD fringe location. It will be followed by 10 Tuesday evening FFG Workshops between late February and November and another 5 on Tuesday evenings between January 2024 and May 2024. The Workshops will feature a mix of guest speakers, panels of leaders on specific themes and subject matter experts. The Program will conclude with a Graduation Dinner for all participants in June 2024.
The Committee has established a Standing Committee for each of its three Pillars, namely:
- Future Economy
- Infrastructure and Sustainability
- Liveability and Urban Optimisation.
The Standing Committees are currently working towards two prioritised issues for the Committee for each of these Pillars. Once those prioritised issues are confirmed, each Standing Committee will identify several potential projects aligned to its two prioritised issues. A dozen of these potential projects will then be showcased to the FFG participants at the Induction as part of the truly distinctive element of FFG – group projects for the benefit of Melbourne that are undertaken over more than 12 months. Participants will, depending on final numbers, be put into 3 or 4 diverse Project Teams for the duration of the Program. Each Project Team will then commit to and then work on a project that team members choose from these 12 potential projects.
Each participant will also have a Melburnian leader as a FFG Mentor with whom she or he will meet one-on-one at least three times during the Program.
Completed nomination packages are sought as soon as possible.
The fee for the Program is $10,000 plus GST for Foundation and Corporate members of the Committee and $8,000 plus GST for Not-for-Profit members. Up to 6 places in the program are available for nominations from organisations that are not currently member organisations of the Committee, with a fee for the Program for those organisations of $10,000 plus GST.
