On March 5, at our final face to face event before the COVID-19 lockdown, over 100 members met at Toyota Australia and took part in a captivating discussion on the Fishermans Bend Precinct.

Our panellists Michael Caltabiano (CEO, Australian Road and Research Board), Rowan MacLean (Executive Director, Fisherman Bend Precinct, University of Melbourne), Cr. Bernadene Voss (Mayor, City of Port Phillip) and Robert Considine (Manager, Water Services Planning, Melbourne Water) facilitated by Director Policy and Research Leanne Edwards delved into wider innovative ecosystems in Greater Melbourne to consider how precincts interact and broad guiding principles for innovative precinct development.

Toyota has since utilised its advanced design, technology and production expertise to help assist the medical community in protecting them from the COVID-19 virus by developing and manufacturing PPE face masks.

“Every day, these people are putting their lives on the line to deal with this situation and we at Toyota have the advanced technology, design and manufacturing expertise to rapidly develop and produce the essential protective supplies they need,” said Toyota Australia Vice President of Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley.
