Ms Kate Brennan
Federation Square Pty LtdMs. Brennan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Fed Square Pty Ltd, Melbourne in July 2005.
From 1998 she was the Chief Executive Officer of the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and led a program of significant change and growth in that time.
Ms. Brennan is currently a member of the Melbourne Convention and Visitor Bureau, Australia International Cultural Council (chaired by the Minister for Foreign Affairs), and the Australia Day Committee (Victoria).
Ms. Brennan was recently Vice President of the Australian Arts and Entertainment Industry Association, Deputy Chair of the Association for Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres, a member of the South Australian Multi-Cultural and Ethnic and Affairs Commission, a South Australian Business Ambassador, and a Board member of the Leaders Institute of South Australia.
She was Chairperson of the Capital City Forum, advising the South Australian Government and the Adelaide City Council on Adelaide’s development.
Ms. Brennan has been recognised for her previous contributions to Melbourne’s arts life in her role at the Melbourne City Council prior to going to Adelaide, leading the enhancement of the Council’s planning for and financial and practical commitment to the arts.
She has had extensive involvement as project member and client in a range of capital infrastructure projects and was involved in the design and activity concepts for Federation Square.
Ms. Brennan has also been involved as a Board member of numerous arts organisations and tourism bodies and has chaired arts funding committees across Australia.
She has a particular interest in the idea of creative and collaborative cities and the role of cultural practice and cultural organisations in the lives of communities and cities.
Also of interest is the design and interplay of the public domain with activities of the community.
She has spoken extensively on arts and business issues around the country and overseas.
Her partner is a busy actor and creative producer and they have two young children.
