Melbourne has become our city of choice.

Whilst born and raised in the outer suburbs of Melbourne some years ago, I did not come to appreciate the diversity and culture that this magnificent city offers until my recent (business driven) return in 1999.

As an individual that has been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to live in two cities on opposite antipodes (Munich and Melbourne) for at least 20 years each, our family has been able to make a very conscientious decision on where we would like to reside. Whilst the choice was not an easy one, it has been made and we are here!

Melbourne offers us some of the European and occidental culture we have become used to and that we enjoy. At the same time it offers us diversity to a degree that is only possible here. It is a safe city and yes, it is rigorous. There are probably few places in the world where traffic infringements are enforced as strictly as they are here in Australia.

The city has a lot to offer, it is a matter of making the most of it. Our family are passionate ‘beach goers’ in all weather. The beaches are very appealing for long walks to clear the mind, even on a cold winter’s day.

From a business perspective Melbourne has the possibility of becoming the Southern Silicon Valley – intellectual capacity, manufacturing excellence, future proofed infrastructure, readily accessible markets.

It is great to be a part of it!
