VLGA | Sustainable Futures with Victorian Local Governance Association
You are Invited to a special workshop on Sustainable Futures by Professor Jay Friedlander
The Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA), in partnership with Central Queensland University, is proud to invite you to join global sustainability innovator, Professor Jay Friedlander, for a practical opportunity to transform your workplace, – and your world on 6 November.
This two-hour workshop, aimed at changemakers in your council, from councilors to coordinators, working in areas from climate change through to community and economic development, will focus on impact, measurability and creating abundance. Prof. Friedlander takes sustainability beyond greenwashing and ad hoc initiatives, to ensure best outcomes for people and planet.
Presented by the Office of Social Innovation, Central Queensland University, as part of Sustainable Futures: Real Strategies for People, Planet, Profit, this workshop will equip participants to systemically and strategically embed the UN Sustainable Development Goals across their operations.
Featured as a solution to the climate crisis by Stanford Social Innovation Review, Professor Friedlander’s dynamic approach has helped transform and empower changemakers across business, community and not-for-profit sectors. Prof. Friedlander’s Abundance Cycle canvas guides impactful sustainability, supporting participants to identify barriers to innovation, reduce waste and realise latent value across systems and organisations.
Professor Jay Friedlander is Sharpe-McNally Chair of Green and Socially Responsible Business at College of the Atlantic and is setting the global agenda around sustainable business and entrepreneurship.
CQ University is Australia’s only university recognised as a Changemaker Campus by global social innovation network Ashoka U, and is committed to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
